INDEX

[index] the refractive index of a lens material. The refractive index is a measure of how much light is bent, or refracted, when it passes through a material.

Lenses with a higher refractive index can be made thinner and lighter while maintaining optical clarity, making them ideal for those with stronger prescriptions. This term not only highlights the importance of quality and performance in eyewear but also signifies a commitment to precision and style.

Eyewear Specialist

Lynne Parker

With 30 years of experience in buying eyewear and styling clients, Lynne Parker has a keen eye for fashion (pun intended!) and a deep understanding of what makes the perfect frame. Formerly the co-owner of Parker and Co Eyewear in Auckland, Lynne is embracing a new lifestyle in the Hawkes Bay, including opening a boutique eyewear store.

Lynne holds an MBA and a Postgraduate Diploma from Auckland University. Her passion for eyewear has taken her around the globe, with her favourite trips being to Paris and Milan for eyewear shows. There, she meets with representatives from internationally renowned designers and explores the latest collections to bring unique and innovative frames back to her clients in NZ.

Travel and fashion are lifelong passions, and no matter where she is, Lynne is always on the lookout for exciting new eyewear. She loves helping clients find frames that suit their individual style, colouring, and lifestyle—watching their confidence soar with their new look. Lynne’s appreciation for style is obvious when you meet her - glamorous yet approachable, kind and knowledgeable, you can’t help but listen to her advice as one of the best in the business.

Now settled in Hawke’s Bay, Lynne enjoys a better work-life balance with time to pursue hiking, yoga, and winery visits, all while continuing her dedication to finding the perfect frames for every face.
optometrist

Geoff Parker

Geoff Parker has been the owner of Parker and Co Eyewear in Auckland for over 30 years and brings 35 years of experience to the world of optometry.

He qualified from the University of Auckland in 1990 and has developed a strong clinical focus on managing retinal problems and glaucoma.

Geoff believes that high-quality patient care begins with understanding, good communication, and education, ensuring the best outcomes for his patients. His approach is one of warmth and honesty, putting his clients at ease with his good nature and sense of humour.

Beyond his professional life, Geoff enjoys travel, with Italy being a favourite destination for its remarkable food and wine. His move to Hawke’s Bay was inspired by the region’s wineries and gourmet food scene. Now, with less time spent in traffic, he has more time for golf, hiking Te Mata Peak with his schnauzer Billie, and DIY projects around the house. Geoff is also a family man, sharing his life with his wife Lynne and their daughter Holly.
